We seek to appoint a motivated intern to join the Digital Economy & Digital Technologies team. The successful candidate is expected to gain first-hand insights with social sciences methodologies, and with a range of policy and technology areas including AI, Cloud-Edge-IoT, and the greening of the IT sector. The successful candidate may also get experience with one or more of the following areas: extended reality, quantum technologies, digital market regulation and smart cities.
Technopolis Group is leading a wide range of projects for the European Commission (such as DG CNECT) and national ministries/agencies on topics covering the uptake of digital technologies and digital transition of public and private sectors. The position implies working on projects for the EU institutions.
Your profile
The successful candidate should have a recently finalised university degree and preferably from a Master’s programme in computer science, economics, public policy, data science, engineering, IT or similar.
Beyond educational background, applicants suitable for this position should have:
- Interest in policy and technology developments, including in one or more of the following technology areas:
- Artificial intelligence
- Computing infrastructure: cloud-edge-IoT continuum; computing metrics; data centre operations
- Interoperability and connectivity
- Extended reality (XR) and virtual environments
- Quantum technologies
- Green ICT transition
- Digital regulation
- Smart city solutions
- Knowledge of advanced quantitative research methods, with one or more of the following considered a plus: modelling, statistical sampling techniques, simulation, managing large datasets, or indicators development
- Acquaintance with qualitative research methods (e.g. literature reviews, desk research, interviews, case studies and surveys)
- Positive attitude towards liaising with different stakeholders and networks
- Good coordination and communication skills, including interest in contributing to workshop and focus group organisation
- Knowledge of programming in R or Python is considered a plus
- Full proficiency in English in speaking and writing is mandatory. Knowledge of any other EU language is a plus
Further to this we are looking for a candidate with a "can do" attitude, who is attentive to details and who can operate well in teams.
