We are looking for a skilled and proactive Event Manager to join our team. This mid-level position is ideal for someone with a passion for managing events, excellent organisational skills, and preferably with experience working in the public sector. 
The Event Manager we are looking for will play a central role in planning and executing high-quality events that exceed our clients’ expectations, is a team player and at ease in sharing tasks and responsibilities, delegating tasks and accompanying more junior colleagues when needed.
Your profile
  • Experience:
    • 3–4 years in event management, preferably with a focus on public sector or sustainable events
  • Skills:
    • Strong project management and organisational skills (we do love a retroplanning well structured!)
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Proficient in budgeting and cost management.
    • Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • Passion for and knowledge of sustainable event management practices.
    • Awareness of green certifications and eco-friendly options for venues, materials, and catering is a plus (otherwise we’ll train you)
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Familiarity with event management tools and platforms (e.g., Eventbrite, Cvent).
    • Experience with online event platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Hopin) for hosting virtual or hybrid events.
    • Ability to manage virtual event logistics, including platform setup, audience engagement features, and technical troubleshooting during live events.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Other Requirements:
    • Willingness to travel for on-site event management.
    • Knowledge of public sector processes and regulations is a plus
Your responsibilities
  •  Event planning & coordination:
    • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for public sector events, including workshops, meetings, and annual conferences.
    • Coordinate with clients to understand their needs and ensure objectives are met.
    • Manage event logistics, including venue selection, catering, AV setup, and transportation.
    • Act as the primary contact for suppliers, participants, and internal teams throughout the event lifecycle.
  • Sustainability focus:
    • Incorporate sustainable practices into event planning and execution, such as minimising waste, choosing eco-friendly suppliers, and promoting energy-efficient solutions.
    • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to align event strategies with sustainability goals and initiatives.
  • Participants management:
    • Coordinate all aspects of participant logistics, including travel arrangements, accommodations, and internal transportation for workshops, meetings, and conferences.
    • Develop and maintain a streamlined registration process, ensuring accurate tracking of attendance and participant preferences.
    • Provide clear and timely communication to participants, addressing inquiries and sharing event details such as schedules, directions, and protocols.
    • Ensure a seamless on-site experience by organising check-in, managing badges, and addressing participant needs promptly.
    • Anticipate and resolve any logistical challenges to ensure participant satisfaction throughout the event lifecycle.
  • Execution & oversight:
    • Supervise on-site event setup, operations, and teardown to ensure seamless delivery.
    • Lead a team of event staff or contractors, providing clear instructions and support.
    • Troubleshoot any issues that arise during events with composure and efficiency.
  • Post-event reporting:
    • Collect and analyse feedback to assess the success of each event.
    • Prepare comprehensive post-event reports and recommendations for improvement.
