We seek to appoint a motivated intern to join the Digital Economy & Technologies team. The recruited intern is expected to gain experience with the delivery of policy and research studies, data collection and analysis methodology and a range of policy and technology areas. The recruited intern may get experience with one or more of the following areas: AI, online platforms, Cloud-Edge-IoT, green and digital transition. Technopolis Group is leading and contributing to a wide range of projects for the European Commission (e.g. DG CNECT, DG REFORM, DG RTD), European Parliament, ESPON, OECD, as well as national and regional governments and agencies, business associations and public private partnerships in Europe and beyond. Your profile
We are looking for a profile that combines an interest in public policy and a keen understanding of the fast-evolving digital landscape. The ideal candidate should have a good blend of both qualitative and quantitative skills. We are looking for someone with proven experience in conducting desk research/literature reviews and drafting reports and who is confident in conducting statistical analysis of survey results or databases.

The recruited intern must have either recently completed their university studies or currently be enrolled in the final year of a Masters' programme, preferably in economics, public policy, or related field. Education programmes including courses on conducting public policy evaluations and impact assessment will be considered a plus.

Beyond the educational background, suitable applicants for this position should have:  
  • Interest in new policy and technology developments, including one or more of the following technology areas: Artificial Intelligence, algorithmic management, online platforms.
  • Interest and knowledge on EU public policy, preferably in relation to digital technologies. Prior work experience in EU public policy consultancy considered a big plus.
  • Good qualitative research methods, for instance literature reviews, interviews, case studies, surveys, workshops.
  • Good quantitative research methods (e.g. statistical analysis, survey analysis, development of indicators) would be considered a plus.
  • Good coordination and communication skills, including interest in contributing to workshop and focus group organisation.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Power Point and acquainted with analytics and visualisation tools. 
  • Full proficiency in English in speaking and writing is mandatory. Knowledge of any other EU language is a plus.
Your responsibilities
To support ongoing research studies with potential involvement in the following activities: 
  • Conduct desk research on a specific topic, assist in literature reviews, and draft case studies on topics related to tech areas previously listed.
  • Support in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
  • Support in developing and implementing surveys.
  • Support in scheduling and conducting interviews with stakeholders (for instance, ICT/IT firms, public sector organisations, academics).
  • Contribute to the organisation of workshops and working groups, both online and on-site.
